Thursday Club

Thursday Club is recommencing on Thursday, 18th September from 2pm – 4pm at the parish hall. There will be various activities and new members are always welcome.

Wedding Bells

Congratulations to Collette Mahon, Curryline and Tomas McGoey, Longford who were married on Saturday, 6th September. We wish the newly weds a long healthy and happy life together.

Rainbows

Rainbows are a non denominational support programme for children aged five and over, and teenagers who are grieving a death, separation or other painful loss. Programme starts on September 24th in the Family Centre, Longford from 6.00pm – 7.00pm. For more information ring 043 3346827.

Hospice Homecare

This is Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning – Thursday, September 18th. Share a coffee with friends and support a worthy cause.

Choir

Choir Practice begins on Thursday, September 18th at 8pm. Best of luck to Derek Mahady who has taken up a new appointment and we wish him success in his new role. Derek did wonderful work with the Choir over the years and will be missed. We would like to welcome Kim Fleming as the new Choir Director. Kim is no stranger to the choir as she has helped out in the past.

Irish Dancing

Irish dancing classes have resumed in the Parish Hall, Newtownforbes on Friday evenings at 6:30pm for children of all ages, and at 7:45pm for teenagers and adults. Fees €4.50 per child per lesson with an overall family rate of €10.00 per family per lesson and special reductions for those who pay by the month. Children can dance for competition or enjoyment. Parents welcome to stay at classes. No wigs, fake tan or make up for dancers. Contact Maureen at (086) 3702719.

Shorin Ryu Karate

We are back! Our training continues every Monday evening in the GAA complex from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in Newtownforbes, while our classes in Kilglass are on Wednesday’s from 7-8pm in the GAA complex also. For further information please contact Sensei Ann Devlin on 087 9248816

Prayer meeting

Divine Mercy prayer meeting takes place in St Mary’s Parish Church, Newtownforbes every Monday at 3pm. Special prayers include the Chaplet and Novena of the Divine Mercy, prayer of Concentration to the Divine Mercy and St Faustina’s Station of the Cross. All are welcome and bring a friend.
