A memorial Darts competition takes place in CJ’S this coming Sunday, 23rd at 4.30pm. The Seamus McGlynn memorial darts competition is now an annual event and all monies raised will go to Roscommon/Mayo Hospice.

Table Quiz

A table Quiz in aid of Ballyfeeney National School ill take place in Leavy’s Lounge, Scramogue this Friday night, 21st February at 9.30pm. Tables of 4 40 euro, all funds to Ballyfeeney National School. You are asked to support this night.

First Aid Course

A First Aid Course in how to administer First Aid to Infants and Young Children will take place in Buttercups Playschool on the following dates Wednesday 26th, Wednesday 5th March, Wednesday 12th March at 7.30pm to 10pm on each of the nights above. Sanctuary Players

Sanctuary Players are back and will perform shortly in Backstage Longford and Roscommon Arts Centre shortly with the exciting play by Michael J Ginnelly called: Pretend Sick. The Tarmonbarry based group will perform at Backstage on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd February at 8.30pm. Contact Backstage at 043-33-4788 and also at Roscommon Arts Centre on Friday 28th February. Community Games

Set Dancing

Set Dancing Classes for children continue at St. Barry’s Hall every Thursday evening at 6.45pm. All welcome especially beginners. Contact 086-1522614.

Club Registration.

St. Barry’s Club registration took place at Barry’s Hall recently. If you have not registered, please ensure you do so as soon as possible. Fee as follows 20 euro child/student, 40 euro per adult, 60 euro per family (children up to 18years). It is important that all members register without delay.

Ladies Circuit Training

Ladies Circuit Training in St. Barry’s Hall on Tuesday’s 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

Dinner Dance

St. Barry’s GAA dinner dance will take place on Saturday, 8th March in the Percy French Hotel, Strokestown. Tickets cost 30 euro are on sale now and are moving briskly, so get in early and purchase. Music on the night by the Heebie Geebies.


A Church gate collection will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 22nd and 23rd February at Whitehall Church in aid of purchasing a new sound system for the Tarmonbarry Folk Group. Please support this project.

Scouting Ireland

Scouting Ireland intend holding a public meeting in Kilglass GAA Clubhouse on Wednesday night, 19th February at 8.30pm. If you are interested in your children joining a scout group in your local area or wish to become a volunteer, please attend the meeting.


A basic and very enjoyable Gardening Class will commence shortly in the Tarmonbarry region. Anyone from anywhere in the region can join this class. Class will run over five weeks, once a week for about an hour and a half. Real practical work will take place at each class and plants will be shown at each class. There will also be something different and a cuppa at each class. You must become part of this to really see how beneficial and enjoyable the whole course is. Phone 086-2507590 for further details.
