The total amount raised by myself, Albert and PJ Murphy was 1400 euro with 700 euro going to the Michael C Ward in Temple St Hospital and 700 euro to Kids Paradise Dreams Come True. Many thanks to all who supported the fundraiser, Martin and Mary for the band on the night, our barber Fintan Fox and prizes for the raffle Hair Affair, Margaret McDowell and Michael Carrigy.

Community Games

Congratulations to Patsy Kenny, Whitehill, who was recently given the honour of being national patron of the community games movement in all of Ireland. A great honour for all her work throughout the years. Well done also to Dolores Reilly, Cavan, who also received an award for her works for the Leinster finals this year.

Pitch and Putt

Well done to the local Acres Pitch and Putt club who have been awarded the national finals of the P & P competition for the 2014 community games.


Santa will parade through the village this Saturday starting at 3.30 and arriving at 4pm in Rawles lounge. Children’s disco and spot prizes. All proceeds go towards Chernobyl Children.


The annual Christmas party is fixed for Sunday January 26th. Lines are on sale locally for draw on the day to support the party. If you wish to donate spot prizes please drop in to Declan, Carmel or myself.


The Hillside Club AGM takes place today Wednesday at 11am in Currycahill CC. All members to attend. New members welcome.
