Lotto Envelopes can be left in the Letterbox in St Patrick’s Hall next to the National School for collection on Monday evenings and everyone is welcome to attend the draw. The club have an option of paying by direct debit for anyone wishing to join the LOTTO and give the club much needed support. The club wish to sincerely thank everyone who supported them on the night and especially Louis Mc Entire MCC, Peter Masterson and Noel Maguire who organised the Races while Margaret Mc Entire and Mary Reilly took charge of the money. All proceeds will go to the Players Injury Fund. Club Membership: is now due and should be paid to Cyril Sheridan, Club Treasurer or Arthur Mc Cabe, Assistant Treasurer. Adult’s €25. Juveniles €10. League: Arva have 2 games against Ballymachugh on Sunday next. The Brady’s Arva Division 2 game is at 2 o’clcock while the Cully’s Craft Bakery Reserve Division 2 game is at 3.30 pm. Congratulations to the Cavan Senior Football Team who have gained promotion to Division 2 of the Allianz League by virtue of their win over Longford on Sunday last. In a hard fought game, Cavan just about deserved their victory and while they still have to play fellow table toppers Roscommon in Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday week and away to Limerick the following week they can’t be caught. Well done to all involved.
U 21 Championship
The Cavan U-21 team defeated Derry in Celtic Park on Wednesday night last in the preliminary round of the Ulster Championship and they face Tyrone, tonight, Wednesday in the quarter final. Best wishes to Ciaran Brady, Jonathan McCabe, Kevin Bouchier and all involved - it should be another tough test. All support needed to cheer on the players. Throw-in is at 8 o’clock – be there.
Continues in St Patrick’s Hall, Arva each Sunday night with a good attendance. With over €3,100-00 on offer each night it is one of the best sessions around. Eyes down at 8.30 pm.

We extend belated condolences to Rev Donald Hannon C.C. Arva on the death in England of his sister, Mrs Pamela Hyland which occurred recently. This was Fr Hannon’s third bereavement in eight months as his brother Damien passed away in Dublin last June while his sister, Mrs Marion Hallinan passed away last September also in Dublin.
The Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from 27th May to 1st June. Bookings for the Pilgrim Section are with Mc Ginnity Travel, Cavan and for the Assisted Pilgrim Section with Rev Kevin Fay, Lavey, Co Cavan. Early booking is essential as places are limited.
Confirmation for the Parish of Killeshandra will take place in St Brigid’s Church, Killeshandra on Saturday of next week, 29th March at 12 noon. The Bishop of Kilmore Most Rev Leo O’Reilly will Confirm the children of the Parish which includes those from St Mary’s National School, Arva.

A country tea party will take place in The Breffni Arms on Friday night, 9th of May at 8.30pm -11.30pm Music by Mike Beasley and A HOLA. All proceeds directly to Arva Community Development Association. Anyone wishing to host a table please keep this date for your diary.
Arva Social Club will this year travel to Wexford for their annual Holiday break leaving on Monday 23rd June and returning on Friday 27th June. On the way to Wexford they will stop off for the customary Tea and Scones / sandwiches, they will have 4 nights Bed and Breakfast with Evening Dinner and stop off for Dinner on the return journey. The cost of all this is just €295-00 per person for members and €325 for non members. It is important to contact any member of the committee as soon as possible to reserve a seat as numbers are limited.

Country Markets this month will take place on Friday, 21st March from 10am to 3pm in Kathleen Brennan’s old shop on Main Street, Arva. Proceeds from the Rent of Stalls and the proceeds of the Raffle will go to the Arva Social Club – please come along and support.
Special Olympics Ireland urgently requires volunteers to help with its national collection day this April. The sport charity’s annual Collection Day takes place throughout Ireland on Friday 11th April. All funds raised go directly towards delivering a sports programme for people with an intellectual disability in Ireland.
