National Heritage Week
Drumlish Heritage & History are hosting two events over 2 evenings on 21 & 22 August: Evening 1 will be a walk to some of the villages’ historic and heritage sites and evening 2 will be a walk around the village of 1950’s Drumlish based on Arnold Meagher’s book: Ireland, my Ireland memories from the heartland – we have engaged the services of a well known and well versed local historian to fill in some of the gaps in our knowledge. The unveiling and celebration ceremony to mark the generous donation of a Bog Oak piece by local Sculptor and Artist, Brendan Collum takes place opp. the Garda Station at 5pm on Thursday next also. All welcome! The heritage gathering follows at 6.15. The National Tidy Town’s results are being announced on Monday 9th September so fingers crossed...
Leaving Cert results
Congratulations to all the young people who have completed their Leaving Cert and who received their results last week. We wish all of you the very best in your chosen careers. If you don’t get what you expected don’t worry or be anxious – there is a back door to everything. Arthritis Ireland

Motor Neurone Fundraiser

Pilgrimage to Knock
The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday 1st September. The pilgrimage starts with the Sacrament of Recomciliation at 12.30. The Anointing of the Sick at 2.30pm.

Death
The death occurred on Wednesday 31st July in Hallgreen, Birmingham of Bridget (Beesie) Masterson late of Creelaughta, Ballinamuck. To her daughters Mary Quinn, (Lettergunnell) and Brigid (Birmingham), sons Pat, John and Joe, (Birmingham), Eamon, (Mullingar), Dan, (Kilcock) and Michael, (Manchester), grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends we extend our deepest and sincere sympathy. Burial took place in Ballinamuck following Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Ballinamuck on Saturday last. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dílís.
