Defibrillator Training: Last re-validation session will take place on Tuesday next July 19th.  The duration of the training is approx. 30 minutes.  It’s really important that we have a full attendance; all participants should have been notified by now.  Training for beginners will be given on Saturday July 9th and takes approx. 3 hours.  There may be another session for beginners in the near future, this hasn’t been confirmed yet.  If you have any queries please contact 087 6359727.

New Baby: We say congratulations to Shane and Orla Reynolds, Clooncolry on the birth of their first baby a girl to be named Lily Mai born in Mullingar General Hospital on Monday July 4th last. We wish you health and happiness for the future.

Sympathy: We would like to offer our condolences to the extended Gordon family, Mohill on a double bereavement in their family last week, firstly on the death of Maureen’s husband Joe Keenan formerly from South Circular Road, Dublin. Cremation service for Joe took place at Newlands Cross Crematorium on Friday last, and also on the death of Patricia better known as Trish Gordon nee Reilly who died at her home on Thursday last, Trish was laid to rest in Mohill cemetery on Sunday last. May they Rest in Peace.

Body attack: Body Attack Classes new five week session starts on Thursday night next at 9pm in Bornacoola Community centre. All are welcome.

Birthday greetings: We send greetings to some friends who celebrate their birthdays at this time, firstly to our own Damian who turned 21 Sunday last and he shares his birthday with our good friend and neighbour Seorise Reynolds who turned forty on July 10th and Damian’s cousin Agnes Vaughan Cloonart who celebrated her birthday on Friday also to Fiona Duignan, Rooskey who reached a milestone in her life on Thursday last, also Sinead Rogers, Liscloonadea who also turned 21 last weekend and to Rose (from Esker) and Oliver Snr. (from Cloonart) who celebrated their birthdays on a very famous day Tuesday (July 12th) and finally to John and Annette Donoghue, Ballinmuck who celebrated a milestone in their lives with a gathering of family and friends on Saturday last. We wish you all many years of health and happiness for the future.

New restaurant: We would live to wish the best of luck to all concerned in the opening of the new Riverside restaurant and Take Away in Dromod. The restaurant is located just beside the Brandywell.

Credit Union: As a mark of respect to our Chairman Paul Clarke the Monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of Annaduff Credit Union was adjourned. A vote of Sympathy was passed by the Board, Supervisors and Staff to his wife Mary and family on Paul’s untimely death. Nay he Rest in Peace.

Briefly: Championship over for both Leitrim and Longford after their defeats on Saturday last all we can do is wish our neighbours Roscommon all the best in the forthcoming Connacht final, get your flags up….Great work done at Bornacoola gaa pitch thanks to all concerned….Good luck to Sheena Faughnan on having her own slot on our local Shannonside Radio hope it is the stepping stone to bigger and better things in the future Sheena….Weather hopefully improving we need a bit of sunshine as the lands have got very wet….Great second half performance by Bornacoola saw them take the honours in the Shield final on Sunday…
