Meeting: A meeting of the turf-cutters and contractors will be held in the Shannon Key West Hotel on Wednesday 31st August at 9pm. It is particularly for those who wish to continue to cut turf in the Rooskey, Bornacoola, Gortletteragh, Annaduff, Tarmonbarry and Newtownforbes areas, but all interested parties are welcome. The aim of the meeting is to inform people of their rights to cut turf and to chart a way forward for next spring.

Summer School: The second International Anthony Trollope Summer School takes place in Drumsna on the weekend of September 9th and 10th.Registration and Opening Ceremony takes place on Friday evening. Saturday 10th will commence with registration from 9am to 9.45am . The Chairperson is Fr. Liam Kelly P.P, Author and Historian. At Session 1 Julian Stray, Assistant Curator will speak on the British Postal Museum. In Session 2 Michael Gleeson will speak on Anthony Trollope in and out of Ireland.In Session 3 Teresa Ransom,Author will speak on Mother and Son: Frances and Anthony Trollope.In Session 4 Michael Williamson will speak on “The Kellys and O’Kellys”, Landlords and Tenants.Booking forms may be had from Ella Gannon, Colleen Guckian, Barry Guckian or Leitrim Tourism, The Old Barrel Store, Ck-on-Shannon.
