The branch would like to thank Liz Rogan for organizing this event and everyone who sponsored this swim and especially the swimmers who braved the icy cold waters of Lough Rynn on the 17th March. And through the hard working endeavors of the collectors, €2560 was raised. And a big thanks to Paul Heaney for his work in raising €500 by running a charity football game.

The Club AGM on Monday night last discussed preliminary arrangements for the Festival 10K and 5K roadraces on Wednesday August 10th. The Annual Open Sports will, as`usual, be held on the June Bank Holiday Monday. Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.00 p.m. with a break during the two weeks of school Easter holidays.


Seminars for farmers and farm family members will take place in the Teagasc Centres, Mohill Wednesday 13th and Manorhamilton Thursday 14th both events start at 8.00pm. These seminars will provide information and discuss supports available to help farmers to apply for LEADER funding for diversification and for the establishment of small businesses on their farms.


Ballinamore Tidy Towns are holding the 3rd Annual Spring Clean on Good Friday 22 April. Could all volunteers meet in the SuperValu car park at 11 am. SuperValu is the main sponsor of the Tidy Towns Competition nationwide. Bags and pickers will be provided and refreshments will be served by SuperValu after the clean up. If you know of a road or area that needs a good clean up we will help you organise it. Last year nineteen bags of litter were picked up on the Link road. Seven bags containing plastic bottles, glass bottles and drink cans were recycled. Thanks to Leitrim County Council for taking away all the rubbish. Ballinamore Senior Citizens Committee are having their A.G.M. It will take place next Monday 11th April at 9pm in Tráthnóna Centre. All members please attend, new members very welcome.

Mohill Family Support Centre is now providing an outreach service for families in Ballinamore and surrounding parishes. The Ballinamore Outreach Office is operating on Wednesdays from 1.30pm – 4.30pm in La Nua office (upstairs), Main Street, Ballinamore. The Ballinamore outreach office can provide a wide variety of services, advice and support to families.
