DARA Kilglass

Thanks to those who took part in the recent trial with a view to developing an app to assist in calling other trained CPR parishioners in the event of a cardiac arrest. The response times were brilliant and prove just how valuable a rural service we are all providing to each other...But here’s the deal. The ambulances involved in the trials were taking from 8-30+ minutes to arrive which means there would need to be a lot of responders on hand to compete cycles of CPR.... WE NEED MORE TRAINEES there should be someone in every house trained in the parish... Without this the defibs are expensive ornaments -a defib without CPR is useless - the cardiac arrest victim will have been oxygen deprived and will eventually have his or her life support switched off... You are the victims next breath... Don’t just read this notice and not take action.... The only wrong thing you can do is do nothing.... Since DARA Ireland began there are 16 people alive today because someone took the time to learn CPR but how many more people have gone into cardiac arrest and no one has known what to do.... Please please consider finding out what is involved call Lorna on0867909004 and inform yourself don’t assume there isn’t something you can do.
