Our warmest congratulations to Aine Murray, daughter of Tommy and Breege, Lr. Main Street, Ballymahon who got married on May 24th at St. Brigid’s Church in Ardagh to Damien McHugh, son of Terry and Maureen from Carn in Carrickboy. Celebrating the Wedding Ceremony in Ardagh Church which was decorated with some lovely flower arrangements, was Fr. Pat Lennon P.P. Ardagh, assisted by Fr. Padraig McGowan, P.P. Ballymahon. The beautiful music and singing was provided by Harpist Edel Tuite from Dublin. Aine, who was given away by her very proud father Tommy, looked absolutely stunning on her very special day, dressed in a gorgeous ivory lace gown. Her Bridesmaids who also looked beautiful dressed in pale green full-length dresses were her friends Michelle Noonan, Michelle Mulvaney, who travelled over from the Czech Republic for the occasion and also Martina Quinn. Damien’s Bestman was his brother Killian and his Groomsmen were two of his friends Jason Orr and Paul Farrell. The pretty little Flowergirl was Maebh Higgins-Casey, cousin and god-child of Aine’s and the Pageboys were two handsome young gentlemen Ben Murray, nephew of the Bride and Oisin McHugh, nephew of the Groom. Many guests travelled from England and all over Ireland to be with Aine and Damien on their Wedding Day. Aine’s brother Brendan travelled over from America and also over from the States were her cousins Liam and his wife Donna, Olivia, Annalice, Timothy and Dermot. And over from Paris was Aine’s first cousin Jason, with his wife Magali and their children Maebh and Molly. Over three hundred of Aine and Damien’s family, friends joined the newly weds for their Wedding reception at The Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone where they were treated on arrival by music from Noel Carberry and Noel Sweeney and after a lovely meal danced the night away to the very lively Late Nite Radio Band. Everyone had a great night. The following day, many of the guests and customers from Aine’s parents pub, The River Inn, were treated to a lovely Barbecue at the pub, again accompanied by some great music so a great weekend was enjoyed by all. We wish Aine and Damien, a long and happy life together and wish them everything that they wish themselves.
