Evening classes
The following evening classes will shortly commence in the Vocational School: Cooking, Cake decorating, Computers, Pilates and others. Contact 9640440 for details.
Registration night
Allen Gaels will hold a Club Registration night this evening, (Wednesday) at 8pm in the clubhouse. All new members welcome. Congratulations to Clubman and County player Alan Wynne who represented GMIT in all three of the FBD League games. Alan will now be available for selection for the Leitrim senior team following the ending of the Winter League. Best of luck to Leitrim who play Roscommon in the FBD League Final on Sunday next in Pairc Sean. This game will be a pointer to the Connacht Championship meeting between the two sides.
AGM
The AGM of Drumshanbo Credit Union will take place on Thursday of next week (30th) in Áras Phádraig at 8pm. All members invited to attend.
St Vincent de Paul
The local Conference of St. Vincent de Paul wishes to thank all those who contributed to their Christmas Appeal. Total collected was €4,534 which included Drumcong Parish.
Drama classes
Children’s Drama Classes take place in Áras Phádraig every Wednesday at 6.30pm.Contact 0872823842 for details.
Trad weekend
The Packie Duignan Traditional weekend commences this Friday 24th with the opening session in Gunning’s at 9.30pm. All musicians welcome. Saturday starts off with music workshops on Flute, Fiddle, Whistle, Bouzouki. Registration in Aras Padraig at 2pm. Workshops from 2.30 to 4pm. Cost €10 per person. (Participants must be able to play a few tunes on their instrument.) Tutors will teach tunes which were played by Packie. The workshops will be followed by a youth session at 4.15 to 6pm in Berry Tavern, High Street. Musicians. Singers, dancers welcome. At 9.30pm the annual Flute gathering gets underway in Berry’s. We are looking forward to a big line up of Flute players and musicians with all other instruments are also welcome. To conclude the celebrations on Sunday in memory of Packie and his wonderful Flute playing the popular Boxty Brunch gets underway at 12.30 in Henry’s, followed by a Slán abhaile session. Everyone welcome.
Card Drive
The popular Allen Gaels weekly 25 card drive continues on Sunday next in the Clubhouse at 8.30pm. Refreshments served. All are welcome.
