Senior Citizen Party: The annual Senior Citizen Christmas Party will be held on Sunday 2nd of December in the Commercial Hotel from 2.30pm to 8pm. Tickets are being distributed at the moment. But any senior citizen who would like to come please come along without a ticket, you will be very welcome.

Whist Drive: The monthly whist drive will be held in the Community Centre on Thursday December 6th at 8.30pm. As this is the Christmas whist there will be prizes galore plue a hamper also extra prizes in ticket draw. All welcome.

Badminton: Badminton training continues in the Sports Complex. Parents must be available to supervise. Primary Schools……2nd & 3rd Classes..Tuesday….7 – 8pm. 4th, 5th&6th..Classes…….Tuesday ….8 - 9pm. Post Primary Schools….1st & 2 Years… Thursday…..7 – 8pm 3th, 4th, 5th Years…..Thursday…... 8- 9pm. Adults: Tuesday 9 – 10pm. Thursday 9 –10pm. Come along and have fun at your own pace.

Bingo: Four Bingo nights left before Christmas. As well as the weekly €1,200 in prizes there are Two Turkeys, two bottles of whiskey and two boxes of chocolates and usual raffle prizes each Tuesday. Starts at 8.30. Come and bring a friend, you will enjoy it..

Table Quiz: A fun table quiz will be held in Smyths Siopa Ól on Friday 30th November at 9pm. In aid of the Northwest Hospice and Crumlin Children’s hospital, Spot prizes on the night. 

Clothes Collection: Ballinamore Post - Primary schools are looking for items of unwanted clothing/ linens etc to raise funds for their Kilimanjaro Charities Appeal. Old mobile phones are also welcome. Collection will be held on Wednesday December 5th. Clothes can be left on Tuesday 4th December or Wednesday before 9am. Phone (086) 2382081 for more details.

Seán O’Heslin’s – Scéalta na Seachtaine: New Year Draw - Tickets are now out for our Christmas draw. Tickets are €20 each or three for €50. First prize is €3,000, Second prize is €1,000 (Sponsored by Prior’s, High St) and 10 prizes of €100 each. Draw takes place in Prior’s on Saturday 5 January.

Women’s Group: - The trip to Letterkenny takes place sat Dec 1st, bus leaves the square at 9am. All passengers are requested to be there on time. The monthly meeting will take place Wednesday 5th at 8pm in Trathnona. Refreshments will be served 

Christmas Fair: - Scouting Ireland 1st Leitrim Branch -Ballinamore - are holding a Christmas Fair in the community hall in Ballinamore on Sunday 16th Dec 2-6pm. Tables cost 25 euro. Ideal for those last minute gifts. There will be lots of local Crafts, Toys, Local produce - Cakes, Plants, Gift ware, Knitwear, Cubs/Scout Craft, Face Painting, Santa etc etc.. BUS NEWS: There have been some positive developments in the campaign to restore a meaningful bus service to the Ballinamore area. When outstanding matters are fully clarified provision will be made for a meeting of all interested.

ATHLETIC CLUB: The Club has suffered great loss as has sport in the Carrigallen area and Leitrim in general as well as further afield with the untimely death of our Chairman Michael Kenny earlier this week. We express our sympathy to his wife, young family and other relatives and our thanks to all who attended the Removal and Funeral in Carrigallen and who helped with the Guard of Honour on Wednesday evening. May he rest in peace!

Jack and Jill fundraiser: On Friday Nov 30th, various collection points around the town. Spot the orange teeshirt. Support on the day is much appreciated or text WE CARE to 57034 - All proceeds raised are used for Jack and Jill causes locally.

Kilimanjaro Fashion Event: On Saturday 8th December, a fashion event in aid of North West hospice and Crumlin Children’s Hospital is taking place in Fatima Secondary School Ballinamore. This event will include a fashion show, displaying high-quality new or almost-new clothing at bargain prices. There will also be a cheese and wine reception. We are in search of high-quality new or almost-new clothing, hats, shoes or headpieces which you are willing to sell. Please send these items into the school by the 30th November. Bridge Club: The results of Thursday the 22nd nights bridge are as follows; 1. Carrie Maroney & Maureen Dolphin. 2. Bernie Flynn & Maura Sweeney. 3. Fr Duffy & Paddy Joyce/Josie McGovern & Kay Dolan. Bridge takes place in the Commercial Hotel at 7pm every Thursday, all players are welcome.

Community Forum Information Night: On Thursday 29th November 2012 the County Leitrim Community Forum are holding an Information Night in the Glens Centre in Manorhamilton from 7 – 9pm. In attendance will be nine organisations and community groups who are deeply involved in a variety of support structures in County Leitrim. The nine organisations are as follows: Leitrim Development Company, County Leitrim Community Forum, Citizen’s Advice Centre, North Leitrim Community Network, Money Advice & Budgeting Service, Community Text Alert (Joe McGivern), North Leitrim Men’s Group, Manorhamilton Credit Union, Simon Community. All nine organisations and community groups will have an information stand on the night which will be manned by staff members from their respective groups. A number of the groups will give presentations on work they do currently in County Leitrim. This is an open event and all are very welcome. We would encourage you to attend this important event as the information and support these organisations have to offer can be very beneficial, particularly in this economic climate.

Exhibition: The Junior Art Exhibition in Solas Art Centre will be held earlier next year, 12th-22nd Jan. due to a very full schedule for 2013, which means work needs to be handed in earlier, before Christmas, between Tuesday 11th Dec – Fri 21st Dec at the Gallery. All work on A4 only, so time to start thinking about it, whether as an individual or a school entry. COOKERY DEMONSTRATION: Pauline Beadle from The Pampered Chef Company will be giving a Christmas food demonstration in Fenagh Visitor Centre on Friday Nov30th at 7.30pm. There will be several Christmas recipes made on the night and cookware and kitchen gifts can be ordered through Pauline’s catalogue. This will be a fun, relaxed evening to get everybody in the mood for Christmas, learn some new recipes and taste some delicious food. Your place must be reserved in advance by calling 0719645590.
