Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is celebrated on Wednesday, 18 February. Ashes will be blessed and distributed on Wednesday in Abbeylara Church at the 7.30pm Mass. Please try to take part in Holy Mass as often as possible during the Season of Lent.

Trócaire Boxes

Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross will take place on Sunday 22 February in Abbeylara Church at 7.00pm. You are invited and welcome to take part in this ancient and beautiful prayer in preparation for Holy Week and Easter.

Solemn Final Novena

In honour of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the Holy Trinity Abbey, Kilnacrott continues every Tuesday at 7.30pm. Rosary takes place at 7.45p.m followed by Novena Prayers and Petitions at 8.00pm. Community Games

Art and Crafts Competition will take place this Sunday evening in Mullinalaghta Community Centre from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. You will not be allowed enter the room after the start time. This is open to all boys and girls u12 down. You must bring your own paper colour and craft material with you.  Hard luck to our U13 girls’ fustal team who were beaten in the semi final in Kenagh on Sunday last. Team on the day was Captain Ava Donohoe, Sinead Reilly, Sophie Kieran Molloy, Aoife Leonard and Siobhan Leonard. They played very well as a team and can be very proud of themselves. These girls will now focus on next week’s u13 basketball match. We wish them well.

The proceeds of the Bingo on Wednesday, 11 February went to the Kevin Bell Fund, who helps families bring home a family member who dies abroad. The Kevin Bell Fund helped to bring home Martin Cadden, son of Michael and Ann Cadden from Loughduff. We raised €2,500. Thanks to everyone who supported it.

‘The Real McCoy’

Killeen Dramatic Society presents ‘The Real McCoy’ a three act comedy by Tommy Marren in The Community Centre, Granard on Thursday and Friday 26 and 27 February and again on Monday 2 March. Curtain up at 8.30pm.

Fundraising Hunt

The Longford Harriers Fundraising Hunt takes place on Saturday, 21 February in conjunction with Mullinalaghta Development. The Hunt commences from outside the church at 12 noon. There will be refreshments in the Community Centre after the hunt form 2.30pm. There will be a raffle for a hamper in association with the event and the draw will take place around 3.00pm. Tickets will be available on the day or in the post office in the coming week. Please come out and support the occasion which Longford Harriers have kindly participated in for the past three years.

Benefit Night

For baby Áine Boyhan Galligan takes place on Friday 27 February 2015 in Ringtown Community Centre. There will be music on the night by Liam Fagan and Guests. “Padraig Potts guide to Walking”

The Granard Branch of St Christopher’s Services have organised a play by Seamus O Rourke - “Padraig Potts guide to Walking”, on 20 February in the Community Centre, Granard at 8.30 pm. Acrylic and Water-colour Painting Course
