Gerry closes his schoolbooks
Congratulations to Gerry O’Neill, Terlicken who has retired as a teacher with Ballymahon Vocational School. Gerry himself was originally a pupil at the school and later returned as a Metalwork/Engineering Teacher which he has been doing with pride for almost forty years. He has been described by his fellow-teachers past and present and also his students as always being supportive, kind, fair and encouraging. Gerry was a highly dedicated teacher, a good listener and was always ready to help out in any way, he was popular with everyone at the school and will be dearly missed by teachers and pupils alike. Gerry is also a great musician, so I’m sure we’ll still see lots more of him, playing his guitar and singing to his heart’s content. We wish Gerry and his wife, Bernie many long years of good health and happiness in his retirement.
