Wedding Bells

Congratulations to Leona O’Neill, Colehill, daughter of Sean and Bernie O;Neill and James O’Reilly, Killoe who celebrated their wedding on Thursday last. The wedding ceremony took place in Abbeyshrule church and afterwards the happy couple along with the many wedding guests in attendance made the journey to the Annebrook hotel in Mullingar where a great a very enjoyable wedding reception took place. We all join and wish Leona and James many happy years of married life together.

Bus to Knock

A bus will travel to Knock from the parish on Sunday the 6th September. To book tickets please contact Fr Charlie, tickets cost €16. The bus will leave Abbeyshrule at 09:40am and Carrickedmond at 9:50am.

GAA

Hard luck to the Carrickedmond senior team who were defeated in the relegation play-off on Saturday evening last by Drumlish. However, all is not yet lost and the team will hopefully, bounce back to winning ways in the final game in this relegation play-off and retain senior championship football for next year. Best of luck to all in the next important game.

Back to School

St Sinneach’s NS Colehill will re-open after the summer holidays on Monday next the 31st August.

House Stations

All in the parish that are due to host up-coming house stations are asked to contact Fr Charlie this week to make arrangements.

Pitch Development

Is progressing well with the development now entering its final stage. The committee would like to thank everyone for their co-operation and patience over the past number of months. It will be worth the efforts of all when the new pitch is complete. If anyone would still like to make a contribution towards the cost of work been carried out on this development please contact any committee member.

Classic Motorcycle Run

The 8th annual Abbeyshrule classic motorcycle run will take place on Sunday the 6th September commencing in Abbeyshrule village at 12noon. Entry is €20 per bike and includes refreshments and raffle. All proceeds are in aid of the Carrickedmond/Abbeyshrule defibrillator group. For more information contact John at 087-8372317 or Kathryn at 086-8226894.

Demonstration

A national demonstration concerning the future of the public water supply will take place on Saturday next the 29th August 2015 commencing at 2pm at Assembly Points - Huston Station and Connolly Station, Dublin. The march will take place to O’Connell Street, Dublin. Everyone invited to attend.
