A new comedy play by former Leitrim GAA player and renowned playwright, Seamus O’Rourke, will be staged in Ringtown GAA Clubhouse on Sunday, April 19th, with starting time of 8.00pm. Admission 10.00 euro. The play tells the story of a man from the day his father falls through the roof of the byre, time on the building sites of England, his return to Ireland and arguments with his sisters, ongoing battles with anger issues, depression and obesity, but most all, through everything, the story of HOPE. Postcard competition

The St. Patrick’s Day Postcard competition organised annually by Castlepollard Library was once again an outstanding success. This year the entry levels grew to 845 children from 15 different schools. The standard was higher than ever this year, and gave the judging panel an incredibly difficult task in choosing the winners. The winners in this year’s competition were as follows:- Castlepollard Parochial School - Theo Wilks, Kathryn Murray, Esther Cowan; Crowenstown NS - Jake Quinn, Sarah McDonnell; Finea NS - Sophie Flynn, Mark Lynch; - Fore NS - Kayleigh Morgan, Enna Coyle, Ruth Kelly; Coole NS - Ella Brady, Saoirse Butler; St. Michael’s NS - Callum Maher, Diarmuid Fagan, Emma O’Hara; Collinstown NS - Casey McCormack, Gemma Williams; Castletown-Finea NS - Georgia Carr, Kerry Cassidy; St. Earnan’s NS Delvin - Isabella Fletcher, Emily Leavy O’Brien; St. Cremin’s NS - Sophie Glennon, Rachel Tully, Thomas McPhillips; Whitehall NS - Caitlin Sheridan, Joshua Keating, Abbey McLoughlin; Loughegar NS - Conor Maleady, Briena Mangan, Andrew Shaw; Taghmon NS - Dara Scally; St. Fintan’s NS - Trian Leslie, Emma Columb, Louise Tighe. St. Tola’s NS - Luke O’Leary, Liam Forde and Liam Bray. Congratulations and very well done to all concerned.
