In a very entertaining match, we retained our Senior Championship status with a one point win over Melvin Gaels on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-13 in Drumshanbo on Sunday. Derek Kellehers team started well with Kenny Cox almost through for a goal in the first minute almost immediately county star Ray Cox burst through for a fine individual goal. Sean McNabola pointed to leave Annaduff four points ahead after five minutes. Melvin Gaels got the next four points to draw level. Ray Cox got the next two points however the Gaels then replied with two points to put the teams level at 1-3 to 0-6. Annaduff got the next four points three from Sean McNabola and a long range point from David Duignan. Melvin Gaels got a pointed free in the 30th minute to leave the half time score Annaduff 1-7 – Melvin Gaels 0-7. Annaduff took a five point lead early in the second half with points from Sean McNabola and Kenny Cox however Melvin Gaels got the next three points to leave two points between the teams after 38 minutes. Kenny Cox and Sean McNabola pointed to give Annaduff a four point advantage with ten minutes remaining. The Gaels scored three points to leave the minimum between the sides however Annaduff held out for a vital and deserved win. Well done to Derek, Kevin , Terry and of course the players. Josie Martin Scholarship

Are you attending college this Autumn. The Josie Martin Scholarship is available through each Credit Union in Leitrim, to the value of 1,000 euro. Eligible applicants must have a Credit Union account. An open draw will be held and one student from each Credit Union will receive 1,000 euro. The scholarship will be available to full time first year students attending a recognised third level College and will be for one year only. Application forms available from Annaduff Credit Union and should be returned before 30th September.

New arrival

Congratulations to Michael and Dolores Bohan, Antfield on the birth of a baby boy called Conor. Congrats also to the proud grandparents, Geraldine and Seamus Bohan.

Parish/G.A.A Lotto

At the draw held in Cox’s Steakhouse Bar, Dromod, there was no Jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 5, 6, 14, 15. The 50 euro winner was Martin Harkin, Dromod. The 25 euro winners were John Byrne, Domod; Aoife Fox, Tommy McLoughlin, Drumsna; Banana Gang, Dublin. The next draw takes place on Sunday night next in Taylor’s of Drumsna with a Jackpot of 7,900 euro.

Coffee evening

There will be a Coffee evening in aid of North West Hospce in Annaduff Community Centre on Thursday, 18th September from 8pm to 10pm. Please support this worthy cause.


Deepest sympathy is extended to the Kane family on the death of Harry Kane, Drumrahill, Eslin Bridge at Lough Errill Nursing Home, Mohill. Removal took place to Mohill Church with burial in the adjoining Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
