ST PATRICKS CHOIR: St Patricks Choir Mohill will be Carol singing in the town on next Saturday 22nd December starting at 3.30pm in the church car park. They will be visiting all the estates and houses along the way and assisted on route by John Reynolds and his horse and cart to add to the festive cheer.
CONFESSIONS/PENANCE SERVICE: A penance service will take place in St Patricks Church on Wed 19th December at 8pm. A number of priests will be available to hear confessions. Penance service will also take place on Wednesday at 7pm in Drumsna on Thursday 20th at 7pm in Aughgavas and at 8pm in Gortletteragh. On Sun 23rd at 7pm in Foxfield and 8pm in Cloone.
HOME ALONE THIS CHRISTMAS: Don’t be home alone this Christmas. If you would like some company, senior help line is a confidential telephone listening service for older people provided by trained older volunteers. They are open every day over Christmas including Christmas Eve,Christmas Day, New Years Eve and new years Day from 10am to 10pm. They are there to listen Lo Call 1850 440440 for the price of a local call anywhere in Ireland.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: There is Eucharistic Adoration every Thursday here in St Patricks Church from 10.30 – 10pm. All are welcome to come and stay a while.
ARTHUR QUINN IN LEITRIM GUARDIAN: Well done to Dr Blaithin Gallagher on another outstanding publication. Blaithin has a feature on Alan Early’s Arthur Quinn and the Fenris Wolf, the second part of the Father of Lies Trilogy. Alan has forwarded an excerpt from the book. Check out www.arthurquinn.ie. Alan appeared on Elev8 on RTE 2 on December 14th to announce the winner of a competition which is currently in the Christmas edition of the RTE guide. Congrats Alan . Wishing you continued success. SEAN REYNOLDS: There was genuine regret and deep sorrow on hearing of the death of Sean Reynolds,Drumhanny Mohill who died on the 8th December at home in the tender care of his wife Mary and family after a short illness borne courageously and with dignity. Sean was a great family man, a true Christian and a noted tradesman. He loved people and it was always a pleasure to meet him. A gifted dancer it was a joy to see Mary and he trip the light fantastic. We shall miss that lovely smile and firm handshake. The very large attendance at his removal to St Patricks Church and again at his con-celebrated mass which was a celebration of Sean’s life. The beautiful music added to the solemnity of this sad occasion. Our sympathies are with his wife Mary, son Sean,daughters Elizabeth and Geraldine sons in law grandchildren, sisters Mae Kitty and Eva, brothers in law nephews nieces and family circle. May his dear soul rest in peace.
