Celebrity Bainsteoir: This Sunday July 22, sees a historic occasion for the local GAA Club and indeed the parish of Newtowncashel in general, as the popular RTÉ reality television series ‘Celebrity Bainisteoir’ comes to ‘Cashel with the celebrity being revealed that afternoon.  The schedule for Reveal Day is as follows: 10-11am, club profile with players at the Club in full Cashel jerseys.  Current Bainisteoir will also be present; 11am-1pm, camera crew relocate to the village, talking to locals, getting shots of the town preparing for reveal; 1-2:30pm, back to club, getting club prepared, talking to spectators; 2:30pm, players in lockdown, camera crew meet with celebrity to do driving shoots entering Newtowncashel; 3pm, celebrity will be revealed; 3:15pm, players and celebrity leave dressing room and address the crowd; 3:30-4:30pm; 3:30–4:30pm, training session; 4:30-5:15pm, post training interviews with celebrity and some of the players; 5:15pm, celebrity mingles with crowd. We hope that there will be a huge turnout for this memorable occasion in ‘Cashel and updates will feature regularly in the Local Notes and in the Newtowncashel Celebrity Bainisteoir page.

Parish BBQ: The Annual Parish Barbeque organised by the GAA Club takes place on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday weekend, August 5th, from 5pm on.  The event was a phenomenal success last year and should be even better this year, particularly with the Celebrity Bainisteoir ‘in town’!
