Ballymahon Municipal District Cllr Pat O'Toole
Cllr Pat O’Toole has called on Longford County Council to include the L1131 Rathmore to Shrule in the next speed limit review of the roads network with a view to reducing the limit on this road to the lowest permissible.
“When you come off the Athlone to Ballymahon Road, it’s very level and very straight but there’s a huge amount of traffic and speeding there,” he said.
Area Engineer for Ballymahon MD Paul Newell agreed to look at getting a review of the road with the hope of getting signage to reduce speed.
