Digital Project to be rolled out to 37 primary schools

Longford County Council will be rolling out a new digital initiative to 37 Longford primary schools in the coming weeks.

The initiative aims to bring the young people of Longford up to speed on the National Broadband Plan, and the terminology that goes with a connected Longford.

The Primary Schools Digital Project will complement the development and rollout of local digital strategies and will ensure that businesses and communities are able to fully maximise the benefits of high speed broadband.

The programme also aims to provide a pathway for digital initiatives to be tested ahead of being scaled up or replicated elsewhere in the country.

It will also ensure student learning is going beyond the walls of the classroom and starting a conversation about the National Broadband Plan in all communities.
