Ballymahon

The Christmas lights will be switched on in Ballymahon this weekend

Ballymahon is set to become a hive of activity this Sunday, December 2 when Santa and Mrs Claus arrive at Bridgeways Family Resource Centre.

On the day from 1-4pm, children will be treated to lots of entertainment.

Mrs Claus will read lots of stories to them and there will be plenty of fun to be had by all.

Meanwhile Santa will be waiting with bated breath for the children to pop into him where he will present each child with that much anticipated Christmas present!

There will also be a number of Christmas stalls at the centre with lots of wonderful gifts to choose from.

The event will also provide parents too with a unique opportunity to soak up the festive atmosphere in the south Longford town with a glass of mulled wine, pick up Christmas presents at the local stalls or simply meet up with friends and have a chat.

At 3pm the Garda Band will perform at St Matthew’s Church and this is guaranteed to be a fantastic event.

Then at 4:30pm the big moment will arrive and Ballymahon’s Christmas Lights will be turned on.

“It’s going to be a fantastic day in Ballymahon,” said Grace Kearney.

“We would be encouraging everyone to come out and soak up the wonderful atmosphere; it will be a fantastic afternoon out for all the family.”

The fee for Santa is €2 per child with all proceeds going to Bridgeways Family Resource Centre.
