Deputy Micheál Carrigy welcomed the LIS funding. “I’m delighted to see €380,230 funding announced for rural roads and laneways in Longford. The funding will see our laneways and non-public roads in Longford receive improved access to homes, farms and outdoor amenities."

He added, “This scheme is a vital source of funding for non-public roads that are not normally maintained by local authorities.”

Minister Calleary said, “It’s a fantastic scheme under which the homeowners and farmers who use the lane make a small local contribution and the Government provides the balance of funding to ensure that people can continue to access their homes and farms on good quality surfaces."
