The Late Robert James Boaden, Main Street, Arva, Cavan
There was deep regret in the parish at the word of the death of the late Robert James (Bob) Boaden, Main Street, Arva, and formerly of the West Quarters, Toome, who passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 29 surrounded by his loving family.
Robert and his wife Sydney are natives of Derbyshire in England and settled in Toome around thirty years ago, moving to Arva in the last couple of years.

Bob had a great love of fishing and it was the angling in the area that brought him to this part of the country where he fell in love with the countryside of the Erne Valley and Mullinalaghta in particular.
Bob also had a great interest in motorbikes and vintage vehicles, and he and Sydney were closely involved in community activities and many fundraising efforts in the area in connection with St Christopher’s in Longford and was a well-regarded neighbour in the area. They had a great interest and skill in gardening and regularly offered tours of their Snaily Garden for charity as well as giving talks to local groups.

Robert is survived by his wife Sydney, his sons Robert and Clive, his daughters-in-law Dawn and Elise, his grandchildren Samuel, Ben, and Jacques, and a wide circle of friends to whom we offer our sincere condolences. His funeral service took place on Saturday, February 7 in Arva Church of Ireland. Safe in the arms of Jesus.
