The most recent Longford ICA Town Guild meeting took place in the old Connolly Barracks.
Longford ICA Town Guild members recently took part in a lovely walk to St Brigid’s Well in Ardagh to mark St Brigid's Day.
After attending Holy Mass in St Brigid’s Catholic Church, Ardagh, prayers were said at the well and ribbons were tied on the tree, followed by a warm cuppa and refreshments in Margaret’s house.
A sincere thanks to Margaret and Frank for organising such an enjoyable day.
Longford ICA Town Guild held their most recent monthly meeting on January 14 at the ICA Headquarters in the Old Connolly Barracks.
Members also enjoyed a wonderful evening celebrating Nollaig na mBan on Tuesday, 6th January 2026, in the Longford Arms Hotel to mark the official end of the Christmas season.
Looking ahead, Longford Town are going forward to An Grianan to represent Longford at the National Table Quiz.
In addition, five members will attend the Crafts of Ireland event in Cavan on Saturday, 21st February, where they will take part in a Button Picture course followed by afternoon tea.
The next Longford ICA Town Guild meeting will take place on Wednesday night, 4th February at 8pm in the Longford ICA headquarters at the Old Connolly Barracks.
The evening will feature poet Darragh Coady, who will read from his own work. New members and anyone interested in learning more about the ICA are very welcome.
