A Fine Gael councillor raised a local flooding problem at last week's monthly meeting of Granard Municipal District.
Councillor Colin Dalton said the issue is in the Moatfarrell area and he was aware Uisce Éireann had already carried out a job to try to resolve it, but it had not been successful.
"I'm just wondering if there is any update on that because there has been lots of calls coming in on that to me about that road for the past number of months."
District Engineer David Coppinger they were aware of the issue.
"We have received the call and I have been in touch with the representatives from Irish Water who in turn have been in touch with the contractor who did the work.
"And it is my understanding that the contractor has agreed, however reluctantly, to come back and resolve the issue."
Mr Coppinger said he was due to be following up on that problem over the coming days with the contractor.
Cllr Dalton said he was pleased by the update.
"I was up there on Saturday and just with the rain and the wet weather you come into it fairly quickly [while driving] and it is completely flooded," he added.
