CAPTION: The Flying Pigs were in town in December 1996 and they literally had people laughing in the aisles at Backstage Theatre during their four night production of Peig: The Musical. Featuring music by prominent Galway band Toasted Heretic this hugely inventive and original production was one of the most hilarious seen in the popular theatre venue since it opened. During their stay in Longford members of the Flying Pigs were delighted to have an opportunity to get involved in street theatre and they are pictured above admiring a fine cabbage in Longford's Market Square – probably the finest cabbage Peig has ever seen PICTURE: JOE MCDONAGH
