All roads lead to Longford Rugby Club this Sunday, August 3 for the Longford Chamber of Commerce barbeque.

An exciting line up has been planned for the day, featuring a huge range of entertainment for all the family.

Proceedings will begin from 3.30pm, with children’s entertainment, including a bouncy castle and facepainting.

Following that, the new St Mel’s Brewing Company will host a tasting of their new range of beers.

In conjunction with the Cruthú Arts Festival, which runs from tomorrow, Thursday, July 31 until Sunday, August 3, a ‘Chairity’ auction will take place.

As part of the inaugural Arts Festival, a number of old plastic chairs are being redecorated in new and creative ways. Some of these beautiful chairs, decorated with everything from paint to old CDs, will be auctioned off at the barbeque.

As if that wasn’t enough, Longford Rose, Kathleen Mahon will also be in attendance at the event. Speaking to the Leader in the run up to the barbeque, Longford Chamber of Commerce Secretary, Sharon Devlin, revealed that Kathleen will entertain the crowd with a few songs.

Having stunned the audience at the Longford Rose selection event with her rendition of ‘Summertime’, there’s no doubt that this will be a very enjoyable performance.

Tickets for the highly-anticipated event are available in shops throughout Longford town. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs just €35, while individual tickets are only €10.
