Two men remain in serious condition in hospital this week following last weekend's collision just outside Longford town.

The incident took place in Feraghfad at around 8.10am and was one of two single vehicle crashes to take place in Longford last Sunday.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene where the occupants of the car, both young males, were treated on site before being transported to hospitals in Offaly and Dublin.

The driver of the car, aged in his 30's, was brought to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore for treatment of serious injuries. The passenger, aged in his late teens, was transported to the Mater Hospital in Dublin, also for serious injuries.

Gardaí say their investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

A few hours later, at approximately 3:30pm, emergency services attended the scene of another single vehicle road traffic collision on the N63 near Lanesboro.

A female driver, aged in her 40’s, was brought to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Longford Gardaí are now appealing to motorists with dashcam footage in relation to either incident to come forward.

Longford Garda Station can be contacted on 043 33 50570.
