Tool & Plastic employees raise over €1,400

Employees at Tool & Plastic Company Ltd in Longford town got together and raised over €1,400 as part of the Movember charity campaign .

“A group of us got our moustaches shaved in the company boardroom last week,” said factory worker Darren Nulty. “The girls got in on the act too with their fake moustaches! Billy the barber and his son came in to do the honours, and some of the girls helped them out.”

Darren revealed that the money raised will be split between the Movember cancer charity and the local Attic House youth project.

“The management at the company decided that they wanted to give something back to the town, so they donated half the money to the Attic House, and we made a special cheque presentation to Ruth McGarry-Quinn on Friday,” Darren revealed.

The Movember fundraiser is not the only charity project workers at the plant are involved with, either.

“We’ll be getting a few Christmas hampers which we’ll be raffling off amongst the workers and the money raised will go to St Vincent de Paul,” explained Darren. “We’ve gotten a lot more involved with charity work this year, and the company directors are hoping everyone in the plant will be involved in Movember next year.”
