Several Longford projects to benefit from LGBTIQ+ Community Services Fund

A number of local projects have been allocated funding under the 2025 LGBTIQ+ Community Services Fund announced by Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley.

Lus na Gréine Family Resource Centre, Granard has received €10,000 towards its Empowering LGBTQI+ Youth: Advocacy and Support Initiative.

The organising committee of the Longford LGBTQ+ Pride Festival 2026 has been granted €8,150.

Hazy Rainbow Social Club has been allocated €5,200.

Other allocations for local projects include;

Conscious Connections: Well Connected - A Queer Wellness Hub for Women and Non Binary People €9,900 (counties Donegal, Kerry, Longford, Wexford and Waterford);

Leitrim Pride: Celebrate the inclusion and belonging of LGBTQI+ people €8,000 (counties Leitrim, Sligo, Longford, and Roscommon).

The aim of the LGBTIQ+ Community Services Fund is to promote inclusion, protect rights and to improve quality of life and wellbeing for members of the LGBTIQ+ community enabling them to participate fully in Ireland's social, economic, cultural, and political life.

Minister Foley said: “I am delighted to announce this funding for projects at a national, regional and local level to ensure that LGBTIQ+ persons across Ireland can avail of these crucial supports and continue to thrive in their communities.”

Minister Foley continued, “Funding of over €1.7 million will enable 43 organisations to support LGBTIQ+ persons in a range of ways including frontline community supports, counselling services, youth supports and Pride celebrations.”
