There have been individual nominations for Longford locals too; Hazy Rainbow Social Scene chairperson Gemma Cooney has been nominated for “LGBTQ+ Volunteer of the Year Award” for her work to stage regular community events in Longford Town, and Christine O’Mahony is in the running for the “Emerging Journalist” award, in recognition of her work to highlight local community news.

Organised by GCN (Gay Community News) in partnership with the National LGBT Federation, the award ceremony will take place on October 4 his year, but submissions for nominations are open until July 18 at 5pm.
