It is understood the meetings administrator has sought further clarification in relation to identification details
A total of 21 potential presidential candidates have sought Longford County Council nominations in relation to the Presidential Election and supporters of Conor McGregor have sent correspondence seeking endorsement.
However, it is understood the meetings administrator has sought further clarification in relation to identification details.
The council is holding a special meeting next Monday, September 15 to consider whether to back a candidate.
Prospective candidates need to be supported by four local authorities or 20 Oireachtas members to get on the ballot paper for the presidential election on October 24.
The special Longford County Council meeting will take place on Monday from 11am to 2pm.
It has been proposed that each potential candidate seeking nomination will conduct a ten-minute presentation for elected representatives.
