Everyone at Mercy Ballymahon were delighted to welcome President of the GAA Jarlath Burns to the school on Wednesday, May 7 as recognition for their GAA Future Leaders Gold Medal success last year.

As part of the GAA Future Leaders programme, our Transition Year students hosted our annual 1st year football blitz on this day, which was made all the more exciting by this special visit.

Throughout the day, the President toured the school, officially opened our new Physical Education lab, and addressed our whole school community.

He left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered on the day and it was truly an honour to host him in our school.
