Poignant day in Longford as friends of late Shane Brennan come together to honour his memory

The friends of the late Shane Brennan are coming together this Saturday, May 10 to organise a day of events to honour their dear friend. 

They are planting a tree in his memory on the Newtownforbes Nature Trail at 11am.

Shane’s friends are then ‘reeling in the years’ as they compete in an over 40s Schoolboy Blitz with Melview, St Emer’s, St Michael’s and Newtown reigniting rivalries one last time in Abbeycartron at 2pm.

Shane’s anniversary mass will take place in Newtownforbes church at 7pm followed by an evening in the Castle Inn, Newtownforbes to reminisce and share memories of their great friend.

So if you are around, Margaret and John Joe would love to see you.
