Uisce Eireann (formerly Irish Water) is applying for planning permission to upgrade the sewerage facilities in Ballymahon
Councillor Pat O’Toole has welcomed the news that Uisce Eireann (formerly Irish Water) is applying for planning permission to upgrade the sewerage facilities in Ballymahon.
The current sewerage plant serving the south Longford town is at maximum capacity and Cllr O'Toole outlined that following a meeting with Uisce Eireann in October 2023 they gave a commitment to acquire some land adjacent to the current plant and extend the plant to cater for Ballymahon's sewerage capacity out to 2050.

Cllr O'Toole said the planning application is a very welcome development as the lack of capacity was a major impediment to housing development in the town and its environs.
