A county Longford man, who was the project lead for the recently completed Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab ultra luxury resort, has been presented with the inaugural 'Chairman's award' by the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Fergal Reilly, a Ballinamuck native, has been living in Dubai for the past eight years and he still travels home regularly to visit his mother and family.

He currently works as a Director with Dubai Holdings, the global investment holding company and personal investment portfolio for the Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Dubai’s newest superyacht-shaped 'ultra-luxury' hotel opened on March 14 last.

"The group employs approximately 40,000 people across a diverse portfolio of industries and I was the Project Lead for the recently completed, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab," Fergal said.

"It is an ultra luxury resort with 380 rooms, 86 suites, 80 serviced residences and 15 Food & Beverage destinations."

Fergal stated he has also completed several other high end projects for the group over the past few years.

"Last week in Dubai I was recognised and presented with the inaugural Chairman's award by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, in the presence of his excellency Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs and Dubai Holding Senior Management at our annual townhall for creating lasting positive impacts for people and businesses and successfully delivering iconic properties for the city of Dubai through cross vertical collaboration," he added.
