RIP: Deep regret in north Longford area following the sudden passing of Kathleen Donlon

Late Kathleen Donlon (née McGovern), Derryglen, Carrickaboy, Cavan / Dring, Longford

There was deep regret in the area at the news of the sudden passing of Kathleen Donlon, Derryglen, Lavey, Co Cavan and formerly of Toome, which took place on Monday, April 21 and came only a couple of weeks after the sad death of her sister Maura Flynn.

Kathleen was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna McGovern. She married Bryan Donlon from Cavan and they settled in Derryglen in the parish of Lavey where they were happily married until Bryan’s sudden death in 1994.

Kathleen raised a large family and was active in the local community and she will be deeply missed by her family, neighbours, and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her sister Maura, her brothers Micheál and Séamus, and her niece Kellie-Marie.

She is survived by her daughters Annamarie McGaughran, Bernie Geraghty, Gráinne Kelly, and Chelle Marley, her sons Derek, Ray, and Darren, her daughters-in-law and sons-in-law, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her brothers Peadar, Martin, and Brendan, her sisters Anne, Geraldine, and Angela, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, her nephews and nieces, her cousins, relatives, and a wide circle of friends, in particular her best friend Michael Bernard, and to whom we offer our sincere condolences.
