Update: Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital from scene of Longford crash with serious injuries

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after he sustained 'serious injuries' following a crash which occurred near Longford town earlier this evening.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on a local road in Mullaghavorneen, Ballymacormack, Longford shortly after 6pm this evening, Monday, April 21.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries.

The L1127 road at Mullaghavorneen is currently closed for examination, and local diversions are in place.
