The Midlands ICT Network is hosting its second major event of 2025, “Let’s Talk: AI & Sustainability – Opportunities, Challenges, and Impact,” on Wednesday, April 30 at co:worx, Edgeworthstown from 10am to 1pm, in partnership with The CUBE Low Carbon Centre of Excellence. 

Keynote speaker for the event will be well-known tech journalist Adrian Weckler who will discuss the implementation of AI as a Sustainable tool for business.

Bringing together leading voices in AI, digital transformation, and sustainable innovation, the event promises to offer fresh perspectives and practical insights into how artificial intelligence can be harnessed to drive meaningful change for businesses, the public sector, and society.

The event will begin with a welcome from Caroline Hofman, Managing Director of The CUBE, and Cormac Strain, Technical Advisor for the Midlands ICT Network, followed by a dynamic lineup of speakers, including;

Professor Michael Dowling, Professor of Financial Technology at Dublin City University, will share insights on Using AI to Maximise Your Business.

Ramy Ebeid, EDIH AI Training Manager at CeADAR Ireland, will present CeADAR’s Fully Funded EDIH for AI Programme, empowering enterprises and public sector bodies to implement AI solutions effectively.

Adrian Weckler, Tech Editor at the Irish & Sunday Independent, will deliver the keynote address on Implementing AI as a Sustainable Tool for Businesses.

A compelling case study will be shared by Jenna Farrell, Founder of Scopey, showcasing how her platform is helping teams reduce delays, control cost overruns, and keep projects on track.

The event will conclude with a Q&A and panel discussion, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers, followed by a light lunch and additional networking opportunities.

This is a must-attend event for business leaders, tech professionals, policymakers, and anyone interested in the evolving intersection of AI and sustainability.
