Last January Granard students from both Cnoc Mhuire and Ardscoil Phádraig made their way to East Rouen, France and study in Lycée Gallilée.
Last week 18 students from the school in East Rouen made their way to Granard where they spent a week with the families of their Irish penpals.
“This was a fantastic opportunity for our students involving an educational and cultural experience,” said Sandra Durkan deputy principal of Cnoc Mhuire Granard and a large part of the exchange.
The Rouen students visited from Sunday, 23 March until Friday, 28 March.
The students were greeted in Ardscoil Phádraig last Monday with an Irish breakfast like their Granard counterparts who had been greeted with a French one in Lycée Galilée at the start of the year.
The students attended classes like any other student and on their last day were honoured with a delightful performance of music and dance in Granard Library as a send-off from the students and teachers of both Ardscoil Phádraig and Cnoc Mhuire Granard.
