First ever Féile Joe Callaghan takes place this weekend
Edgeworthstown is set to become alive with the sounds of traditional music and dance on the first weekend in April for the first ever Féile Joe Callaghan.
On Saturday, April 5, the beautiful St John’s church will be the venue for a concert with the traditional group Peter Street.
Peter Street comprises four talented musicians Keelan McGrath on accordion, John Paul Reynolds on fiddle, Fionn O’Hanlon on bouzouki and Simon Crehan on guitar and vocals.
On Sunday, workshops in tin-whistle, bodhrán, button accordion, fiddle, banjo and accompaniment will be led by the four Peter Street members as well as Sarah Bourke and Andrew Beirne.
Award winning dancer Éirinn Dully will hold set-dancing classes on Saturday in St Mary’s school.
Classes will commence both days at 12 noon. Doors will open for the concert at 7pm..
Open Sessions will be held in local pubs following the concert and workshops on both days.
Tickets costing €15 are available at the venues.

The Féile organised by Comhaltas Joe Callaghan promises to be an unforgettable experience for music lovers across the country.
It is the first such event to be held in Edgeworthstown. Féile Workshops will provide a useful learning experience for musicians honing their skills for forthcoming County Fleadhs.
The Féile Concert and sessions will give everyone an opportunity to listen to Fleadh winning musicians who have reached the pinnacle of their performances.
