Tops: Drumlish Ballinamuck announced as top area at Longford Community Games gala awards

Drumlish Ballinamuck Community Games were crowned Best Overall Area in County Longford for 2024 at the recent Longford Community Games annual awards ceremony held in the Longford Arms Hotel. 

The awards ceremony on Saturday, March 15, saw the incredible achievements of children from County Longford who won a National Medal in 2024, recognised.

Twelve  talented children from Drumlish Ballinamuck Community Games were awarded National Medals in 2024. A huge congratulations to these children and their families!

These outstanding National Medal winners were presented with an award to mark their achievements.

Winners representing Drumlish-Ballinamuck:

Pewter National Medals: Dean Mulleady (U10 200m) Emily Kane (U10 60m Hurdles)

Bronze National Medals: Our fantastic U10 Indoor Soccer Team, coached by Padraic Davis:

Dean Mulleady (Capt.), Daithi Davis, Peter Mc Kenna, Chad Gill, Elliot Kane, James Madine, Alfie Budd, Dherran Appaddo.

Silver National Medal: Emma Brennan (U16 1500m)

Gold National Medals: Ashley Weafer (50m Freestyle), Niamh Lawlor (U16 Modelmaking)

Special Recognition Award - Longford Community Games awarded special recognition to Ashley Weafer, Emma Brennan, and Niamh Lawlor for their remarkable achievements in Community Games over the years.

Best Overall Area Award - Drumlish Ballinamuck Community Games were crowned Best Overall Area in County Longford for 2024! The committee were overjoyed to receive the most coveted Patsy & Joe Kenny Perpetual Cup. The award was proudly accepted by our Chairperson, Gráinne McNamee. 

This prestigious recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our fantastic volunteers who have worked tirelessly to host an array of events for the children of Drumlish Ballinamuck to allow them to participate at Local, Leinster, and National levels.

This achievement also celebrates the incredible successes of our talented children in a wide range of activities particularly in recent years, including Soccer, Swimming, Model Making, Chess, and Athletics, to name but a few.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this success – your support and dedication is truly inspiring. Here's to even more achievements in the future!
