Alert: Several Longford road closures and diversions for motorists to contend with this week

There are several Longford temporary road closures and diversions for motorists to contend with this week.

The temporary closures are to facilitate works. 

R198 Battery Road

The R198 Battery Road, from the McDonald’s Roundabout to the Lisbrack Road Junction will be temporarily closed from 6pm on Monday, March 31 to 6am on Tuesday, April 1. 

Local access will be facilitated during the works and a diversion route is also in place.   

L-1125 Barry

The L-1125 road at Barry, Co Longford will be closed on Monday, March 31 and on Tuesday, April 1 from 7am to 5pm.

This road closure is taking place as part of the Longford County Council Roads Programme 2025. Local access will be facilitated and traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works. In the interest of road safety, you are requested to heed all signs.

L-5042-1 & L-50421-0 Kiltycreevagh, Longford

Roadworks taking place as part of Roads Programme 2025 from Monday, March 31 to Friday, April 11 (week days only, from 8am to 4pm) on the L-5042-1  Kiltycreevagh townland between its junctions with L-1017 and L-1019; and the L-50421-0 Kiltycreevagh townland full cul-de-sac to its junction with L-5042-0.

Local diversions will be in place and local access will be facilitated.

Temporary Road Closure R194 Killeter

The R194 Killeter is closed from 8am to 6pm on Friday, March 28 to Tuesday, April 1. Local access will be facilitated during works.

Temporary Road Closure L 1124 Toome, Longford

The L 1124-0 Toome will be closed from 7am to 5pm on Wednesday and Thursday, April 2 & 3,  to facilitate work under the Longford County Council Roads Programme 2025. 

Traffic Management will be in place for the duration of the works.In the interest of road safety, you are requested to heed all signs.

Temporary Road Closure L-1080-0 Firmount

The L-1080-0 Firmount will be closed from Tuesday, April 1 to Friday, April 4 from 7am-5pm.

This road closure is taking place as part of the Longford Co Co  Roads Programme 2025. Local access will be facilitated and traffic Management will be in place for the duration of the works.

Temporary Road Closure R399

The R399 between its junction with the N55 at Kilcurry to its junction with the R393 at Ratharney will be closed (24 hours) from Monday, April 14 to Sunday, April 20. 

The suggested diversion route is at Kilcurry, follow the N55 to Carrickboy and then via the R393 to Ratharney.  Local access will be facilitated during works.
