Longford audience set for a real treat as Mostrim Players present The Secret Singer

The Mostrim Players Drama Group fundraising event, The Secret Singer, is all set to take place this St Patrick's Day weekend.
The evening will see nine masked singers and two dance groups taking the stage on the night. The drama group's fundraiser is part of plans to find a permanent home.

The judging panel is in place, with Paul Ross, John Rooney, Aishling Rynn and Laura Doyle set to run the rule over the contestants.
The singers will be accompanied by dancers Oonagh O'Ferrall, Kate Doherty, Amie Belton, Lucy Grant, Roisin Greene, Ciara Crossan, Shanaibh Flood and Freya Lily O'Connor.

All the dancers are students of Evolution in Longford, under the tutelage of Paul Hennessy and Tracy Carty.
The singers are mostly local, but there will be special guest singers making appearances on the night.
This is Mostrim Players's annual fundraiser to support the group, but the drama collective have ambitions to establish a theatre space in the town.

Organiser Pauline Flood said the local community have really rowed in behind the event: “Without our sponsors and all our supporters we wouldn't have been able to run this unique event.
“We are the first group in county Longford to put on The SecretSsinger, but I'd say we wont be the last. All of this effort is to save up for a space of our own in the future.”
The Secret Singer is similar to the popular TV show The Masked Singer but the Mostrim Players have put their own slant on it. Tickets costing €20 can be bought in M& N Giftshop, Mostrim, Quinns Supply Stores and The Goldsmith Inn.
The Secret singer takes place at 8pm on Sunday, March 16, in The Community Centre, Edgeworthstown.
