Heavy good vehicles must avoid Longford's Battery Road for the next four weeks due to roadworks.

To facilitate the roadworks on the R198 Battery Road, further restrictions will be imposed. The lane width available for traffic will be reduced to 2.5m.

Diversion signage for HGV traffic will be put in place, signing a diversion from the R198 Battery Road to the N63 Ballinalee Road via the N4 Longford By-Pass.

The diversion starts at the eastbound approach to the Red Cow roundabout via the N4 Longford By-Pass to the Leo Casey roundabout via the N63 to the junction of Main Street with Richmond Street, via Connacht Road to the Fiddlemaster ‘Blind’ Kiernan roundabout, then via the N5 northbound and ends at the Charlotte Brooke roundabout.

They apologise for the inconvenience caused.
