Road works underway in Newtowncashel, Granard, Ballinamuck and Dromard areas over the next few weeks
Longford motorists are being advised to expect delays as there a number of road closures across the county to facilitate improvement and resurfacing works.
In the Newtowncashel area, the following roads; L-11693-1 Commons North, L-1163 Cloonfore, L-1154-0 Caltrabeg to Fortwilliam, L-1158 Ballynahinch, Cashel, L-1152 Leab, Cashel, L-1149-0 Derrydarragh to Barley Harbour (L1149-0), L-1145 Tipper, L-5253-0 Elfeet, L-5112-0 Allenagh, L-5046-0 Derryharrow, L-50322-0 Carrowbeg; will be closed from Monday, March 10 to Monday, March 24 from 8am to 6pm daily.
The purpose of these closures is to carry out road resurfacing works. Local access will be facilitated during the works.

Ballinamuck
The L-1030 and L-1025 Aughadowry to Gaigue Road from junction with L-1034 (Aughadowry Cross) to junction with R-198 (Gaigue Cross) will be closed from Monday, March 10 to Friday, March 14 from 8am-4pm
The closure is taking place to enable work under the Roads Programme 2025 and local access will be facilitated during works.

Granard
Road works (week days only) are taking place on the L-5151 Kilfintan, Granard up until Tuesday, March 18 from 8am-4pm. These roadworks are part of the Roads Programme 2025.
Traffic management system (Traffic Lights) will be in place for the duration of the works but delays can be expected.

Moyne
Road works (week days only) are taking place on the L-1023 Drumard, Moyne up until Friday, March 21 from 8am-4pm.
These roadworks are part of the Roads Programme 2025. Traffic management system (Traffic Lights) will be in place for the duration of the works but delays can be expected.
