Longford Ploughing Championships will host their launch night on Tuesday, March 4 in Skelly's Ballymahon at 8pm.
Plans for Ireland's largest outdoor springtime ploughing festival and family field day are well advanced and details will be revealed in Skelly's.
Longford Ploughing Association PRO Luke Casey expressed thanks to the Delaney Family in Drinan who are hosting this year's event at their farm on Sunday, March 23.
Mr Casey continued, “Thanks also to James and Tracey at P&J Finnegan car sales for being our main sponsor.”
He said, “Longford Ploughing welcome all Ploughing 2025 sponsors, exhibitors and friends to Skelly's to meet the team behind the biggest outdoor Springtime ploughing festival in Ireland. Join us for a chat, some photos, refreshments and raise a toast for some sunshine to smile on the championships on Sunday, March 23 .”
The full schedule for what promises to be an exciting afternoon of ploughing, music and family entertainment will be unveiled on Tuesday.
“The big trade exhibition returns, there will be an outdoor dancefloor, with dancing competitions and more details about The Queen of the Plough Dance, in the Rustic Inn on Saturday, April 19 will also be announced.”

Novice Ploughing
Longford Ploughing will hold a ploughing workshop on Saturday, March 8, kindly hosted by John Mills on his land at Taghshinny.
Anyone curious about learning about competition ploughing or conventional ploughing, should bring their own tractor and plough or contact a ploughing team member to arrange a plough in advance.
Booking is essential so contact John Maye on 087 784 8206 to secure a place.
The best novice performer will qualify to plough for Longford at the National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore next September.
