Building evacuated: Longford business praises emergency services and staff following fire

A well known Longford business is praising the response of Longford Fire Brigade and their staff following a fire that broke out on the premises on Sunday afternoon, February 16. 

The Richmond Inn, Clondra was evacuated out of concern for the safety of staff and customers.

In a post on social media, the Richmond Inn thanked their staff and the emergency services for their response to the incident. 

"Thanks to our extremely hardworking and dedicated staff who acted fast in getting all of our customers to safety and to Fergal, Martin & Esmeralda who got the fire under control until the fire brigade arrived.

"Thank you to all in the Longford Fire Brigade who attended and assessed the situation and made the building safe in a matter of minutes.
"We are truly grateful that nobody was seriously injured or hurt in the incident and we thank you and all our neighbours, customers and friends who have rang and messaged us with offers of help and support over the last 24 hours."
The Richmond Inn thanked everyone who assisted with the clean up to make sure it was ready for reopening and it will be open today, Tuesday, February 18 from 12 noon for lunches.
