Planning permission is being sought for the construction of 80 houses and a childcare facility in Longford town.

Wincove Land Ltd recently lodged plans for the significant development on a 2.98 hectare site at Aghadegnan with Longford County Council. 

The 80 residential units will be made up of 18 three bedroom semi-detached units and 62 three bedroom terrace units.

The development also includes a two-storey childcare facility with play area, set down area, eleven car parking spaces including one accessible space and four  cycle parking spaces.

Also included in the plans is the construction of the network of internal roads and footpaths, public open spaces (approx. 0.48 ha.) including play area and 12 no. covered bicycle parking spaces, bin collection point, estate store (14 sq. m.), ESB substation, landscaping, boundary treatment works, solar PV panels on the childcare facility, and all ancillary and associated site development works.

Planners are set to adjudicate on the application by March 26 next, and submissions can be made up until March 5.
